Monday Muse: Lauren Bacall

Hello lovelies sorry I haven't been posting lately! Well I'm back, for a little while at least, because I am going to the lake for a week and then to fashion camp at NC State! To start things off again, one of my favorite series, Monday Muse. There are so many people who inspire me, and one who I think has exceptional style and an amazing aura is Ms. Lauren Bacall. I've watched movies with her such as "Designing Women" and "The Big Sleep" since I was a little, but found out that she was a model discovered by Diana Vreeland in one of my favorite fashion documentaries, "Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel." She seemed to be such a strong woman, as she was known for her "sass" and was always rocking a picture perfect CBF. Well here's to the beautiful woman worthy of Bogie's heart.

Looking at a promo for her movie "To Have and Have Not"
Love this look, similar to this one here
Obsessed with this satin robe in "The Big Sleep"
There's nothing better than a big bell sleeve and my love, Gregory Peck, in "Designing Women"

Mama Mia

Is it weird that one of the reasons I want to become a parent is to wear mom jeans? Well since Leandra Medine makes them look so cool. I also wanted a pair of jeans that weren't "attractive" to guys, and match them with the shoes to set off the bagginess of the jeans and add a little sexiness to the outfit. I'm not a feminist by any means.. I love pink, wearing dresses, and having a man treat me like a lady, but I don't believe in women having to wear skinny jeans, high heels, and push up bras. Anyway back on point, I've been looking for a good pair of high-waisted jeans for a long time, and finally found a pair that were the right size and were high-waisted enough. At first I didn't think that they were tight enough, but realized they aren't supposed to be, so I bought them for $3 at Goodwill (my go to store). I initially had this flamboyant outfit picked out, but decided to go with this simple tee and amp it up with the jewelry! The necklace, which I wore to prom, had the right amount of sparkle to make this outfit a little more feminine. At school, a lot of people said that they liked the mom jeans, but who cares! I love them, so I'm wearing them! Overall I think it turned out quite well, and won't wait til I'm a mother to hop on the "mom jeans train."

And a special debut from Chaucer.

Sea What I Can Do

I usually can hold myself up until the end of the school year, but not this year. I can not wait for this school year to be over. It might have something to do with all of my best friends leaving next year for college and leaving me alone to suffer in high school. So as I catch myself day-dreaming about summer getaways in exotic places, I also fantasize about all of the amazing clothes I will be wearing (or the clothes I won't be wearing ie., bathing suits only). Here are some of the beach babes I will hopefully be emulating this summer.

I love how happy and cheerful all of these girls are. Brigette Bardot with her cheetah, that woman with the awesome hat and precious dog (an accessory anyone can have), a woman from the 20s with an inflatable zebra, and five friends on the beach playing leap frog. They all look so happy, which is why all of these women are my inspiration for summer fun and embracing every minute with my friends and family. And last but not least Kate the Great. On a rock in the middle of the ocean.. In a gown.. Nothing else.
